Key keywords: Andy Pages three-run homer, 2024 MLB regular season, Los Angeles Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies, Andy Pages third home run, Dodgers 2024 offensive surge, 2024 NL West standings, Andy Pages rookie season performance, MLB top rookie highlights On June 12, 2024, at Dodger Stadium, 22-year-old Cuban rookie outfielder Andy Pages delivered one of the most memorable hits of his young MLB career, crushing a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and power the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-3 win over division rival Colorado Rockies. The home run marked Pages’ third long ball of the 2024 season, and his first go-ahead hit in a late-inning situation since he was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City in late April. Heading into the seventh inning, the Rockies had erased an early 2-0 Dodgers lead, putting up three runs in the top of the fifth behind a two-run double from shortstop Ezequiel Tovar. After Mookie Betts drew a two-out walk and Freddie Freeman laced a single to left field, Pages stepped to the plate against Rockies reliever Jake Bird, who had not allowed an earned run in his previous seven appearances. On the first pitch of the at-bat, a 98 mph four-seam fastball over the inner half of the plate, Pages connected for a 427-foot blast to left field, with an exit velocity of 112.3 mph, making it the hardest-hit home run by a Dodgers rookie this season. The hit immediately put the Dodgers ahead 6-3, and the team added two more runs in the eighth inning to seal the win. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Pages after the game, noting, “We’ve seen how steady Andy is since he joined the big league club, and he never looks overwhelmed even in high-pressure spots. That home run was the exact spark we needed tonight, and he’s more than earned his regular spot in the right field slot right now.” Pages, who finished the night 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs and a run scored, told reporters after the game, “I was just looking for a pitch I could drive, and I got a good one to hit. Having two of the best hitters in the league on base ahead of me made that moment even better, I’m just happy I could help the team pick up a win against a division rival.” With the victory, the Dodgers improved to 42-18 on the season, extending their lead in the NL West to 8 games over the second-place Arizona Diamondbacks. Pages now holds a .286/.342/.521 slash line for the season, with 22 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits, putting him firmly in the mix for the National League Rookie of the Year award at the midpoint of the 2024 campaign.

@DodgersDiehard88: I’ve followed Andy’s journey ever since he signed with the organization back in 2020, and seeing him hit that game-winning three-run homer had me screaming at my TV. He’s so polished for a rookie, he deserves a permanent spot in the starting lineup for the rest of the season.

@MLBStatsJunkie2024: That 112.3 mph exit velocity is absolutely insane for a 22-year-old in his first month and a half in the big leagues. Pages is on pace for 26 home runs and 92 RBIs this year, which easily puts him in the top 3 for NL Rookie of the Year right now.

@RockiesFan4Life: As frustrating as that loss was, I can’t even be mad at that hit. That ball was gone the second it left his bat, you could tell even from the broadcast. Pages is going to be a nightmare for NL West pitchers for the next decade, that’s for sure.

@CasualBaseballFan99: I was at this game last night! The entire stadium erupted the second he made contact, you could feel the energy through the seats. I’m already ordering his jersey this week, he’s easily become one of my favorite players on the team.
