Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has named an unchanged starting XI for his side’s Scottish Premiership away clash against Dundee at Dens Park, following the team’s dominant 3-0 Old Firm derby win over Rangers last weekend. The decision to stick with the same line-up comes as little surprise to supporters, given the squad’s flawless performance against their title rivals, which extended Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership table to 12 points with just six fixtures remaining in the 2023/24 campaign.
The confirmed starting XI sees Joe Hart retain his spot in goal, protected by a back four of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor. In midfield, captain Callum McGregor leads the side alongside Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate, while the front three is made up of Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Luis Palma, who contributed two assists in the win over Rangers. The only change to the matchday squad comes on the bench, where young midfielder Rocco Vata replaces the injured Liel Abada, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season with a hamstring issue.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Postecoglou explained that consistency in selection is key to maintaining the team’s current momentum, even against a Dundee side fighting to avoid relegation. “Dundee have been really strong at home lately, they’ve picked up points against top half sides here at Dens Park so we know we can’t take anything for granted,” the Australian manager told reporters. “This group of players has earned the right to keep their spots after how they played last week, they understand the assignment and what we need to do to get closer to the title.”
Celtic have won all three of their previous meetings with Dundee this season, scoring a total of 10 goals and conceding just once, but Dundee boss Tony Docherty has promised his side will put up a fight in front of a sold-out home crowd. Away supporters have also snapped up all 3,000 allocated tickets for the fixture, with thousands of Celtic fans travelling to Dundee to cheer on their side as they edge closer to a third consecutive Premiership title. A win for Celtic this afternoon will see them move within touching distance of wrapping up the league crown, with their next fixture against Kilmarnock at Parkhead set to be a potential title decider if results go their way elsewhere.

Great call to keep the same XI after that perfect Rangers win! The lads are all in peak form right now, I can see us putting 3 or 4 past Dundee even at Dens Park. Kyogo and Hatate are totally unplayable at the moment, I’ve already booked my trip up to Dundee to watch them run riot.
As a Dundee fan, I’m not gonna lie, seeing Celtic roll out their full strength first team is a bit daunting, but we’ve got nothing to lose here. We’ve won 4 of our last 5 home games, so if we press their midfield hard in the first 20 minutes and force mistakes, we might sneak a point to keep ourselves clear of the relegation zone. Come on the Dee!
Postecoglou’s refusal to rotate unnecessarily when his team is in form is exactly why Celtic have been so dominant this season. No silly changes to shake up momentum, no giving fringe players minutes just to keep them happy when the title is still on the line. This line-up has more than enough quality to get all three points even on a tricky away pitch like Dens Park, I’m predicting a 2-0 Celtic win with Kyogo getting the opener.
I’m so glad Luis Palma is keeping his spot in the starting XI, his assists against Rangers were absolute world class. He’s been such a great signing for us this season, I can see him setting up at least one goal against Dundee today. The title is basically ours already, but it’s nice to see the team taking every fixture seriously.
