If you’re searching for live entertainment in the Charlotte metro area this week, you’re in luck: the city’s lineup spans indie rock, country, folk, reggae and more, with options for solo concertgoers, friend groups and whole families.
Kicking off the week on Tuesday, Oct 15, iconic Uptown venue The Fillmore hosts indie rock favorite Japanese Breakfast as part of the extended leg of her Jubilee world tour. The Grammy-nominated artist is set to play hits from her last three studio albums, plus a handful of deep cuts for long-time fans. Tickets range from $35 for general admission standing room to $75 for VIP balcony access, and students with a valid UNC Charlotte or Central Piedmont Community College ID get a 10% discount at checkout. Paid parking is available at 10 nearby Uptown garages, with a 20% discount for guests who pre-book through the Fillmore’s official website.
On Thursday, Oct 17, head to the bohemian NoDa neighborhood for a intimate set at The Evening Muse from local folk star Lila Mae. Mae, who grew up in south Charlotte, just released her debut full-length album *Queen City Blues* last month, and this show marks her first local headlining set since the record dropped. Only 200 tickets are available for the 200-capacity venue, priced at $20 each, with free craft beer samples from NoDa Brewing Company included for all attendees.
Country fans will want to grab tickets for Cole Swindell’s show at the AvidXChange Music Factory outdoor amphitheater on Friday, Oct 18. The platinum-selling artist, whose hit “She Had Me at Heads Carolina” spent 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, will be joined by opening act Southern Ground, a Charlotte-based country band that has opened for national tours across the southeast. Lawn tickets start at $45, while VIP front-row packages with access to a private lounge and complimentary drinks cost $150.
For family-friendly fun, check out the Reggae in the Park festival at Frank Liske Park in Concord on Saturday, Oct 19. Hosted by local reggae collective Sunshine Reggae Band, the all-day event features 6 regional reggae acts, a kids’ play zone with bounce houses and face painting, and 12 local food trucks. Kids 12 and under get in for free, and adult tickets are $25 per person.
All tickets are available via Ticketmaster or individual venue websites, with limited remaining inventory for the Lila Mae and Japanese Breakfast shows as of press time. Evening temperatures this week are expected to hover between 55 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so guests attending outdoor shows are advised to bring a light jacket.

I’ve been waiting for Japanese Breakfast to come to Charlotte for 3 years! I grabbed 4 tickets for my roommates and I as soon as they went on sale, can’t wait to sing along to ‘Be Sweet’ live at The Fillmore. The student discount is such a nice touch for us UNC Charlotte students too!
I just moved to Charlotte from Chicago 2 months ago and had no idea the NoDa neighborhood has such cool small music venues. I’m a huge folk music fan so I just bought a ticket for Lila Mae’s show on Thursday, excited to check out The Evening Muse and meet some local music lovers!
As a mom of two young kids, I’m so grateful for family-friendly concert options like the reggae festival at Frank Liske Park this weekend. We already invited 3 other families from our neighborhood to go with us, the kids are obsessed with the bounce houses and food trucks they advertised, and I get to enjoy live reggae which is my favorite genre!
I’ve seen Cole Swindell live twice before and his shows are always so high energy! The fact that he’s bringing a local Charlotte band as the opener is such a cool move, I’m definitely grabbing lawn tickets for my friends and I to go Friday night.
