Prime Video officially announced the long-awaited premiere date for Season 2 of hit action thriller *The Terminal List* on Wednesday, confirming the series will debut globally on the streaming platform on February 28, 2025, alongside the release of its first official teaser trailer. First launched in 2022, *The Terminal List* quickly became one of Prime Video’s highest-performing original series, drawing millions of views in its first month of release and earning a dedicated global fanbase for its gritty, grounded storytelling and authentic military representation. Adapted from former Navy SEAL Jack Carr’s best-selling novel series of the same name, the show stars Chris Pratt as James Reece, a decorated Navy SEAL officer who seeks revenge after his entire platoon is ambushed during a high-stakes secret mission, uncovering a web of high-level government corruption that puts him and his family at risk.
Season 2 will draw directly from Carr’s second novel in the franchise, *True Believer*, picking up with Reece living off the grid in South America after the events of the first season, where he is targeted by U.S. law enforcement for his role in taking down the corrupt officials responsible for his platoon’s deaths. When a series of coordinated terrorist attacks hit major U.S. and European cities, federal officials strike a deal with Reece: he will be granted full immunity for his previous actions if he uses his specialized skills to track down the terrorist cell responsible for the attacks before they strike again.
Alongside Pratt returning in the lead role, the new season will see the return of fan-favorite cast members including Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, Reece’s former teammate and closest ally, and Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, the investigative journalist who helped Reece expose the conspiracy in Season 1. New cast additions for Season 2 include Uma Thurman, who will play the President of the United States, and Ramon Rodriguez as a senior CIA operative working alongside Reece on the counter-terrorism mission. Prime Video content chief Vernon Sanders shared in a press release that *The Terminal List* has been one of the most requested series for renewal by the platform’s users over the past three years, noting that the production team worked closely with Jack Carr to ensure the new season stays true to the source material’s attention to tactical accuracy and emotional depth. All 8 episodes of Season 2 will be available to stream globally on the premiere date for all Prime Video subscribers, with the platform also confirming that the previously announced prequel spin-off *The Terminal List: Dark Wolf*, focused on Kitsch’s Ben Edwards, is currently in active production and expected to premiere in late 2025. The newly released teaser trailer offers a first look at the season’s high-octane action sequences, including desert raid scenes, underwater tactical operations, and tense confrontations between Reece and government officials, as well as a quick glimpse of Thurman’s presidential character.

Been waiting for this announcement for 3 whole years! I binged the first season twice in 2022 and have read all of Jack Carr’s books since, so I already know Season 2 is going to be even more intense and authentic than the first. Chris Pratt was born to play James Reece, can’t wait for February 28!
What I love most about The Terminal List is how accurate the military details are, since Jack Carr is a real former Navy SEAL. The first season didn’t cut corners on tactical sequences or the real moral complexities of special ops work, and I’m thrilled they’re adapting True Believer next—easily my favorite book in the series so far. Also, Uma Thurman as the president? Perfect casting choice.
I didn’t expect to get into this show as much as I did when I watched the first season on a random weekend. The storytelling is so tight, and the action sequences feel real instead of over-the-top CGI messes. I’m already clearing my schedule for the end of February to binge all 8 episodes as soon as they drop. Hoping they announce the Dark Wolf spin-off premiere date soon too!
