The long-running CBS daytime soap opera *The Bold and the Beautiful* has released its official cast comings and goings roundup for the week of May 18 to 22, 2024, and the most anticipated announcement is the full-time return of beloved character Charlie Webber, portrayed by veteran actor Dick Christie.
Charlie was last seen on screen in late 2023, when his character was written off temporarily to manage a family-owned security consulting business in Northern California following his semi-retirement from his long-held post as Forrester Creations’ head of on-site security. His absence left a noticeable gap in the show’s lighter, comedic beats, as Charlie was widely adored by viewers for his deadpan one-liners, over-the-top dedication to Forrester’s safety protocols, and charming on-screen dynamic with his former partner Pamela Douglas.
Per official B&B spoilers for the week, Charlie is called back to Los Angeles directly by Eric Forrester, who is growing increasingly concerned about potential security breaches ahead of the brand’s high-stakes 2024 Couture Collection launch. The Forrester family has been facing mounting external threats in recent weeks, including repeated anonymous attempts to access the company’s private design files, unconfirmed reports of rival Spencer Publications planning to sabotage the launch event, and lingering fears that notorious villain Sheila Carter may attempt to infiltrate the Forrester campus to reconnect with her family members.
Charlie’s return arc will kick off on the May 19 episode, when he arrives at the Forrester Creations headquarters ready to overhaul the company’s entire security system, much to the frustration of Thomas Forrester, who has been pushing to hire a younger, tech-focused security team to lead launch event protection. The week’s episodes will also reveal that Charlie has already uncovered evidence of an unauthorized person accessing the design studio after hours, setting up a tense cliffhanger that will play out through the May 22 teaser episode. In addition to Charlie’s full return, the comings and goings roundup confirms two guest appearances for the week: social media fashion influencer Mia Carter will make a one-episode cameo as a red carpet correspondent for the couture launch, and Paris Buckingham will appear in two episodes to support Hope Logan during her ongoing contract renegotiations with the Forrester executive team. Fans can also expect subtle teases for a potential return of Pamela Douglas later this summer, as Charlie mentions multiple times that he has stayed in regular contact with her during his time away from Los Angeles.

Omg I’ve been waiting for Charlie to come back for literal months! His silly one-liners and that deadpan sense of humor are the exact lighthearted vibe B&B has been missing lately with all the heavy Steffy/Hope and Sheila drama. I can’t wait to see him mess with Thomas a little when he’s checking security badges at the Forrester launch event 😂
I knew they’d bring Charlie back right when the security plot is ramping up! Who else thinks the person sneaking around the design studio is Sheila? Charlie’s the only one who’s ever caught her slipping past security unannounced before, he’s definitely gonna be the one to blow up her whole scheme this week. Mark my words.
I really hope Charlie’s return means Pam is coming back too! Their weird little snack-obsessed, security-obsessed dynamic was my favorite part of the show back in the 2010s. It’d be so perfect to have them run Forrester security together again while all the family drama is going on in the background. CBS stop holding out on us and bring Pamela Douglas back next!
It’s so nice to see a classic character return instead of all these random new cast members no one cares about. Charlie feels like such a core part of the Forrester world, I’m already enjoying his scenes even from the previews. Hope they keep him around for a long time this go-round.
