2023/24 Premier League Standings: Final EPL Table, Relegation Results and Champions League Qualification Breakdown

Key keywords: 2023/24 Premier League standings, final EPL table, 2024 EPL relegation, EPL Champions League qualification, Manchester City EPL three-peat, Arsenal Premier League runner-up, Aston Villa Champions League return, Luton Town relegation, EPL European spots The 2023/24 English Premier League season wrapped up on a dramatic final matchday that settled the title race, European qualification slots, and relegation battles all in 90 minutes, marking one of the most competitive campaigns in the league’s 32-year history. At the top of the final EPL table, Manchester City secured a historic third consecutive top-flight title with 89 points, three points clear of second-place Arsenal, who led the league for 248 days across the season but fell short in the final stretch after dropping points against mid-table sides Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa. The title race went down to the last hour of the final day: City beat West Ham United 3-1 to lock in their crown, while Arsenal picked up a dominant 5-0 win over Everton but could not close the gap at the top. Four teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage from the EPL this season, with third-place Liverpool (82 points) and fourth-place Aston Villa (74 points) joining City and Arsenal in Europe’s elite club competition next term. Villa’s qualification marks a remarkable turnaround for the West Midlands side, who were battling relegation from the second-tier EFL Championship just five years ago; manager Unai Emery has transformed the club’s fortunes in less than two years in charge, guiding them to their first Champions League appearance since 1983. Tottenham Hotspur finished fifth on 68 points to secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage, while sixth-place Manchester United (63 points) qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off round. Brighton finished seventh, narrowly missing out on European football after a strong second half of the season. At the bottom of the table, three sides were relegated to the EFL Championship: Sheffield United, Burnley, and Luton Town. Luton, promoted to the top flight for the first time in 31 years ahead of the season, pushed the relegation fight to the final day, but a 1-1 draw with Fulham was not enough to overtake Everton, who beat Bournemouth 1-0 to secure their top-flight status despite a 10-point deduction earlier in the season for financial fair play breaches.

What an unbelievable three-peat for City! Pep has built an absolute dynasty here, and even when Arsenal pushed us to the final day, we never dropped our intensity. Can’t wait to see us defend the Champions League trophy next season too!

I’m still gutted Arsenal threw away the 8-point lead we had back in February. We played some of the best football in the league all season, but those two dropped points against Brighton and Villa in the run-in really cost us the title. Next year has to be our year.

Who would have thought Aston Villa would be in the Champions League 5 years ago when we were fighting relegation from the Championship? Unai Emery is a genius, and this club is only going up from here. Bring on the European nights at Villa Park!

As a Luton fan, I couldn’t be prouder of what this team achieved this season. We were everyone’s favorites to finish dead last by Christmas, and we took the fight to the final day. We’ll be back, and we’ll be stronger next season in the Championship.
