The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and University of Georgia (UGA) athletic department officially released the full TV broadcast schedule for the 2024 Athens Regional on Monday, confirming that all games of the first-round college baseball postseason tournament hosted by the UGA Bulldogs baseball team will air across ESPN’s family of linear and digital platforms.
Ranked No. 7 nationally in the latest NCAA baseball RPI rankings, Georgia earned the right to host the Athens Regional after finishing the 2024 regular season with a 42-15 overall record, including a 19-11 mark in SEC play, competing in one of the strongest conferences in college baseball. The four-team regional field also includes NC State, UNC Wilmington, and Jacksonville State, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Super Regional round for a chance to qualify for the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska later this summer.
Per the newly released schedule, the regional will kick off on Friday, May 31, with the first game between NC State and UNC Wilmington airing at 12 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The Bulldogs’ opening game against Jacksonville State will follow at 6 p.m. ET the same day, broadcast nationally on ESPN2, with supplementary coverage available for streaming via ESPN+ for subscribers who prefer to watch on mobile, tablet, or connected TV devices.
Saturday’s slate of games will include the first elimination game at 1 p.m. ET on ESPNU, followed by the winners’ bracket matchup at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. If a necessary championship game is scheduled for Sunday, June 2, it will air at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN, with an optional second championship game (if the undefeated team loses the first matchup) set for 8 p.m. ET on the same channel.
UGA athletic director Josh Brooks noted in a press release that the national TV coverage will allow Bulldogs fans across the country to tune in to support the team, even if they are unable to secure tickets to the sold-out Foley Field in Athens. “We’ve seen incredible support from our fanbase all season long, and this TV schedule ensures that no one has to miss a pitch as we compete for a spot in Omaha,” Brooks said. Local officials in Athens also announced multiple public viewing parties across downtown and the UGA campus for fans who did not manage to get tickets to the in-venue games, with free entry for all students and discounted food and drink for attendees.

As a lifelong UGA baseball fan who’s been going to games at Foley Field since I was a kid, I’m so stoked we finally get to host a regional and have all the games on national TV. I already scored tickets for Friday’s opener, but I’ll be recording every other game on ESPN2 just to rewatch all our big hits later. Go Dawgs!
I graduated from UGA in 2020 and now live in Seattle, so I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to catch the regional games until the TV schedule dropped. The ESPN+ streaming option is perfect for me — I already planned a watch party with other local Georgia alumni this weekend to cheer the team on from across the country.
As a college baseball analyst for a small sports outlet, I think Georgia is one of the most underrated teams in the whole tournament this year. Hosting the regional gives them a huge home field advantage, and the national TV exposure will help their players get the recognition they deserve if they make a deep run. I’m picking them to win this regional easily.
I’m a freshman at UGA and didn’t manage to get student tickets for the games, but the university just announced they’re setting up a big screen at the Tate Student Center for all the televised games. The atmosphere there is going to be insane, and I can’t wait to watch the Bulldogs crush it with all my friends.
