Amazon Prime Video has officially confirmed the next expansion of its hit R-rated superhero franchise, with 'Vought Rising' set to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform in late 2025. Helmed by executive producer Eric Kripke, the creative mind behind the original 'The Boys' series and its first live-action spinoff 'Gen V', the new show is positioned as a direct narrative bridge between the season 1 finale of 'Gen V' and the highly anticipated fourth season of the flagship 'The Boys' series, filling critical plot gaps that left fans speculating for nearly two years.
Set primarily at the Vought International headquarters and across multiple supe-managed cities in the U.S., 'Vought Rising' dives deep into the corporation’s aggressive campaign to consolidate power in the aftermath of the Godolkin University virus outbreak revealed in 'Gen V’s closing moments. The series will follow a mix of returning fan-favorite characters from 'Gen V' — including Marie Moreau, Jordan Li, and Emma Meyer — as they are forced to strike deals with Vought executives to avoid being framed as domestic terrorists for the campus tragedy, while also introducing new figures across Vought’s marketing, PR, and covert supe operations teams that expose the company’s systemic corruption and manipulation of public narratives.
Staying true to the core of 'The Boys' franchise, 'Vought Rising' will retain the signature dark humor, graphic violence, and sharp satire of real-world corporate greed, celebrity culture, and political pandering that made the original series a global phenomenon. Early synopses tease that the show will also feature cameo appearances from key 'The Boys' main cast members, including Antony Starr’s Homelander as he ramps up his populist political campaign, and Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher as he continues his secret hunt for supe targets while navigating his terminal brain condition.
Prime Video has also confirmed that 'Vought Rising' will run for 8 hour-long episodes, with production set to kick off in Toronto, Canada in early 2024. The streaming service has already released a 30-second teaser trailer during the 2024 Super Bowl, featuring a voiceover from Vought’s CEO Stan Edgar touting the company’s "new era of supe-led public safety" cut with quick clips of violent supe attacks and protestors holding anti-Vought signs, setting the tone for the tense, morally gray story ahead. Franchise executives have also noted that 'Vought Rising' is not a limited series, and will be renewed for additional seasons if viewership targets are met, as Prime Video continues to build out its 'The Boys' universe to compete with other mainstream superhero media franchises.

I binged Gen V twice when it came out and that finale cliffhanger had me screaming at my screen, so I’m so hyped we’re finally getting answers about what happened to Marie and the rest of the Godolkin kids before The Boys S4 drops. The teaser looked insane, I hope they keep the same unhinged, unfiltered energy Gen V had!
The Boys has always been the only superhero franchise that doesn’t pull punches when it comes to mocking corporate greed, performative activism and celebrity hypocrisy, so I’m really optimistic about Vought Rising. The premise of showing how Vought spins a literal supervirus outbreak into good PR is so timely, I can already tell the satire is going to be top tier.
I just hope they don’t fall into the common spinoff trap of making it feel totally disconnected from the main series. The confirmation that Homelander and Butcher are going to make appearances is a good sign, but I want to see how the events of Vought Rising directly lead into the conflict we saw teased in The Boys S4 trailers. If they pull that off, this could end up being even better than Gen V.
As someone who’s obsessed with every piece of Vought lore from the web series to the comic tie-ins, I’m so excited they’re finally giving us a show that focuses on the inner workings of the company itself. All the behind-the-scenes chaos of Vought’s PR team covering up supe murders and faking charity campaigns? That’s exactly the content I signed up for, no notes so far.
